I approach teaching as a challenge; as I know not every student learns the same way. I first start by finding a common ground; a level of knowledge if you will. Essentially I find what they know and where do they need help. From there I like to find out something the student has an interest in; thus allowing me to relate subjects to something they find interesting. I also like to constantly reinforce what the student has learned with questions and examples. Finally I relate everything that the student has learned to the real world; which I find gives them a better understanding of what they've learned, and for the importance of it. I have always loved mathematics, but never thought I would end up being a teacher. I initially used my strong analytical skills in the business world.
