Experience Summary
I have been teaching for twenty-nine years in subjects of English, Literature, Art History, Drawing, World Civilization, and the Humanities. I have earned three degrees, a BA in Social Sciences/English, a MH in Humanities, and a PhD in Fine Arts, which have enabled me to teach a variety of areas. Throughout my teaching career I have taught research, essays, and grammar skills. For the past year, I have tutored students in English and Social Studies in the AVID Tutoring Program at Indianapolis Public Schools.
Teaching Style
Teaching is a calling which I have loved all my life for which a variety of techniques and strategies are required as each child learns differently. Adaptability, love of learning and children, organization, patience, knowledge, and consideration are all necessary qualities to be a good professor, teacher, or tutor. Good educators do make a world of difference in the process of education, no matter what level of learning.
