In 1994 my family and I move to San Jose, Costa Rica to begin studing Spanish at the Spanish Language Training Institute called, CINCEL, in San Jose, Costa Rica. We spent a year of intensive liguistics training which enabled us to start teaching in Spanish the following year. We ended up spending the next 10 years teach in 3 different countries in Central America. Upon returning to the states I became the High School Spanish teacher at Oklahoma Christian School in Edmond, OK. Since then I have been tutoring different students in the Northwest Oklahoma city area. Being bilingual opens incredible doors of opportunity around the world both personally and in business! I enjoy working with students both young and old who have a desire to expand their communications skills. I am continuously complimented on my Spanish skills by people with Spanish as their first language. I learned Spanish through living with a family of Mexican heritage, through my personal relationships in our local Hispanic community, 3 years of High School Spanish, working at The Latino Community Development Center, and several trips to Mexico. I have been told that I have teaching techniques for difficult Spanish pronunciations, that help the student pronunciations Spanish vocabulary with greater ease. My experience of learning Spanish as a language began at the age of 9. I have since been utilized as an interpreter for The Department of Public Safety, The Department of Human Services, The Latino Community Development Agency,UMB Bank, by patients needing to communicate with area hospitals, to aid taxpayers with filing taxes, translating wedding vows, etc.

I am very simplistic when it comes to teaching. I like to over-exaggerate the thought behind the theory, so that the student could understand the full concept behind the reasoning. Junior in high school at Edmond North. I help peers of mine with help that they may need. I am in Pre-Ap Spanish IV, and will be continuing my studies to earn my minor in Spanish. I am also in school, so my mind is fresh off what I am also being taught. I have straight A's with one or two B's occasionally. I am in NHS- National Honor Society and I strive to do my best.

My teaching is based on lecture explanation. During teaching/tutoring I encourage my students to ask questions. At the end of the lesson I provide problems related to the related material. Assign homework for next class session. During my last year of college, I was employed by my university as a science/math tutor. During this year I was able to help students with their science problems of all levels. During my time in college I was involved in reading biomedical research papers.I was able to attract many students interested in the biomedical research field to learn how to read research papers. I was very proud of myself for this due to the high difficulty first year graduate students have reading these papers.

I currently have a bachelors degree in sociology with a minor in elementary education. During the past 4 years and working in the early childhood education industry I realized that many teachers were not getting the proper training that they needed to receive to help the children that they are serving. Once I realized this I decided to work on my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education in hopes that i could be an Early Childhood College Professor and teach students the ins and outs of the early childhood industry. While getting my bachelors degree I tutored in subjects such as reading,writing, math, and science as well as art. I believe that all students learn differently and should be treated as so; with this being said i believe that each student should work at their own pace and should be helped to find strategies that help them learn.
