I am firm but like to use students life experiences and hobbies to teach them subjects. Younger students I like to teach through play due to the fact that I am a firm believer that children learn through play. I have been studying education since my high school graduation in hopes of one day being the choir director at my high school.At the moment I am a student at UTEP studying bilingual elementary education and plan to receive a masters in music education after receiving my bachelors degree. My teaching style generally varies based on who I am tutoring/teaching. I generally treat my students as adults and under the assumption that they will go to college. I also tend to go a little beyond what is covered in the subject (especially in math) as a preparation for whatever course may come next (i.e. I would probably give a prealgebra student full fledged algebra work in order to prepare him/her for the next year). I am a sophomore mathematics major at the University of Texas at El Paso. I have taught a GED class for adults facilitated by the Housing Authority of the City of El Paso (HACEP) and the YWCA.
