Experience Summary
The subjects I have taught are Health, Texas History, Basic Science, American History, Spanish 1-3, World Geography, Biology, Language Arts including writing, spelling and grammar. Even though these subject are outside of my major, I took the time to prepare. We also know that teaching a subject helps us learn it better. I have at least three years experience teaching each of the named subjects or more. I have coached Volleyball, Basketball, Track successfully and would be willing to personally coach a budding athlete. My best experiences have been with ages 12 - 14.
Teaching Style
Each child is different. On a one on one setting, it would be advantageous to allow the student some freedom so that their learning style leads to maximum learning. My goal is to teach the student to love self-learning so that the student appreciates learning without a tutor or teacher present. All children can learn in an environment conducive to learning given the tools needed to cope with whatever stress may be interfering with their education process. I strive to connect with the student so that the student knows I am willing to impart a love of learning to them, not just give them a bunch of facts.
