I graduated with a BA in French and Elementary Education and taught for 4 years in multi-age classrooms. Then I tutored while I stayed home with my children. I resumed teaching 1995 and earned an MAT in Elementary Education in 1998. My experience continued in multi-age classrooms where I taught reading, math, English, handwriting, science, social studies, P.E., art, and music for grades 1-6. I also tutored students after school in remedial reading using Project Read.
My approach to teaching is that all children can learn given opportunities in a "safe" environment. I taught many students with learning challenges and I had to individualize their program. Each day my goal is the same, to get the most out of my students, and this can only be done when they are attentive and motivated.
