A Little Bit About Me...

I tutored a fellow student in Finite Mathematics during college for one semester. I earned a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology, working hard to finish my degree in three years. I recently took online classes in order to achieve my Masters of Science in Education. I have worked as a general paraprofessional in elementary schools for two years and a one-on-one paraprofessional for the last year. I have taught sunday school and afterschool church programs for at least three years and am very involved in my own children's schooling.
Through all of my work related experience, teaching has been the one thing that I loved and felt completely comfortable doing. I love teaching and working with students of all ages. I particularly enjoy watching a student's eyes light up after catching on to something new. I know all students learn in different ways, but I believe most people learn best when they are relaxed and enjoying themselves. I also believe it is important, especially for math, tasks be completed multiple times for the ideas to really be remembered. I believe making students explain the material to someone else is an effective way to gauge understanding. Most importantly, I truly care about students as people.
