A Little Bit About Me...

I am just as comfortable tutoring students in math and science as in reading and writing. As a secondary school student, I received a number of top science honors, such as first place honors in several state science fairs and being named a semi-finalist in the prestigious Intel Science Talent Search. Since high school, my interests have leaned more to the arts and writing. I graduated with a BA with distinction in Art History from Yale University and a PhD in the same subject from the University of Manchester, UK. At a Wall Street bank, I trained new hires in the proper transmission of Telex and SWIFT messages. I later moved to SR&D as a Programmer Analyst. I worked in the creation and maintenance of programs needed by the bank. For 12 years, I recruited and trained independent salespeople, while conducting my own demonstrations. For the past four years, I have spent much of my teaching career working with ESE children and those from low income backgrounds with significant learning barriers. I have been incredibly successful in making learning gains and working toward successful high school completion and college enrollment.
