I like to teach students how to get to the correct answer and then see what they come up with. I can assess where they went wrong and then give pointers how to do it correctly. My first duty as a tutor is to build a rapport with my students by showing them that I take my tutoring responsibilities very seriously, and letting them know that I expect the same from them during our time together. My teaching style is very classical in the sense that I prefer to ask the student questions about their work in the hopes that they will find their own answer. When a student is stumped on a problem I ask questions that I hope will help them to see the problem from a different perspective. I have a B.S. in Biology with an emphasis in microbiology and zoology with a minor in chemistry. For the past 10 years I have worked in the science industry in many facets. Many facets only because I was trying to decide what I wanted to go graduate school for only to decide not to go once I was accepted.
