As a music teacher, I have am well schooled and enjoy teaching all instruments as well as vocal music. I have a thourough knowledge of music and can teach reading, theory, basic improvisation, and technique on virtually band instruments. I currently play the trumpet and sing in church and I love wrking with students at all levels. I have a master's degree in school counseling and can help students apply for scholarships and grants and help them find a school that is suitable to their individual needs and career interests. I can also do career testing and planning to help students determine what their goals and aspirations are and a path to follow to meet these goals. My teaching style is very much like my personality. As a successful learner, I studied education in college. I graduated in four years with a 4.0 grade point average in the Education Department. I am currently enrolled at Charleston Southern University. I am majoring in Early Childhood Education. Taking these classes has helped me understand students and their different learning needs so much more. Upon earning my International Baccalaureate diploma in high school, I immediately decided teaching music was what I wanted to do. I attended the University of South Carolina and performed in many professional music ensembles including: USC Orchestra, USC Wind Ensemble, USC Symphonic Band, USC Percussion Ensemble, Palmetto Pans and I also performed and a recorded a full length album with a band that was voted best in Columbia, SC.
