I have always enjoyed working with children and knew I would want a career working with kids to help enhance their futures. While still in high school, I worked after-school tutoring elementary age students in a wide variety of subjects. After working with that tutoring program for some months I filled in the position of head tutor and was in charge of assigning students to tutors and overseeing the overall running of the after-school program. After receiving my BS in Psychology I worked as an Educational Assistant in a special education class at a middle school (grade 6-8) in Hawaii. There I further developed my tutoring experience working with older students, mostly in mathematics and basic sciences. When I was attending Regis University, I started majoring in English and minoring in Education. I student taught and tutored two days out of the week for four hours for two and a half consecutive semesters. I absolutely enjoyed working with the students, it was the teachers that had me hang up my hat in that field.
