The realization that children do well in small group instructional settings, and on an individual tutoring basis, is what I took most from my years in the classroom. My focus is to ascertain the instructional level needed, then instruct for that standpoint. I do not like busywork, but instead look for progress in the individual child. I majored in Literature at Berry College and have taught it to High school students in Fayette County, grades 9-12. I opt for making the material relatable to my students, which causes it to be more interesting and meaningful. When something is relevant, it is a lot more fun and kids are much more willing to want to learn, which is, of course, ideal.
