I have been teaching for three years at the secondary level, although I have worked with younger students. My degree is in Business Education, but I have tutored in math before as well. I absolutely love teaching and especially enjoy working with upper level students, although I love working with children as well. I believe every student has been given unique gifts and talents, but needs others to help them discover those abilities. As a teacher, I don't expect all my students to be "math geniuses" because their talents may be in a different field, but I do expect all my students to excel in what they do and give their all. I encourage my students to make every effort to do their best because they CAN succeed at whatever they put their minds to. My goal as an educator is to instill confidence in every student and guide them to academic success so they can carry that confidence into all areas of life.

A Little Bit About Me...

I got my first teaching experience as a lab instructor for undergraduate physics labs and fell in love with the profession. The best part of the experience is seeing the student grasp a concept that they felt out of reach. I enjoy coming up with inventive ways of communicating the difficult portions of math and science. Most of my students benefited from my teaching style which includes many examples and encourages a dialogue approach to difficult concepts.
As a non-traditional student I recognize the necessity to create a level of confidence that inspires a student to continue their education with success.
