I believe that an effective teacher sees him/herself as a guide on a path to discovery, not just a lecturer. When I teach, I like to start by asking strategic questions. These questions help the student focus on the subject and help me find out what they already know. From there, I can guide them through an investigation of the subject by continuing a logical sequence of questions.
