My comments on tutoring Poetry : Have wide experience in poetry and have published a couple of personal poems in small literary presses.

I have been a special education teacher in the Apache Junction Unified School District since August 2008 where I began as an inclusion teacher at Thunder Mountain Middle School as an emergency certified special education teacher. In order to maintain my job, I got my master's degree in Cross-Categorical Special Education. Optimistic communicator sharing a love of reading & writing

I worked as a tutor while doing respite work for United Cerebral Palsy of Orange County in California. I am proud to say that the young man I worked with the longest is now finishing his BA in justice studies at Cal State Dominguez Hills. I also tutored as a substitute aid for the Ocean View School District in Orange County, California. After earning my BA in journalism from CSUF I have published in a number of print and online media outlets, and I am currently pursuing an MFA in creative writing.

Teach students how to think, not what to think.

I am currently enrolled at Northern Arizona University. I have completed three years of undergraduate study in history secondary education, have spent seventy hours working and assisting in classrooms, and earned a minor in Spanish. In summary, I am a history buff who happens to be fluent in Spanish.
My teaching style is Socratic. Inquiry and discussion are my primary tools. I also teach history as an argument about the past for the students to develop rather than a set of facts and dates to be memorized. I try to teach without assigning homework.
