My comments on tutoring French : I'm working on my B.A in French. My French is also a my second language after Arabic.

French is my second language which I read and write since I was in third grade. I have earned an Associate in Art from community college, and I'm working on my BA in French. As a student in UMSL university,I'm practicing my French daily which is contributing in expanding my knowledge about French culture. I also work on helping the kids learning French while I'm volunteer in God's Small World preschool.As a native speaker for the Arabic language, I believe that I'm able to teach students in a way that make them fluent in reading, writing and speaking the language. I believe in differential teaching styles. Every student has the ability to learn, however every student's learning capabilities are all different. I believe that it's important to understand how every student learns as an individual and exposing them to a variety of learning situations. This can be done with lectures, readings, music, and various projects. Learning should be fun. I strive to make a point of this when ever I teach. I do this in both lectures and tests. I find a little humor takes the edge off test taking and allows the student to concentrate on the subject matter without being nervous.

As a tutor, I understand my responsibility primarily as that of helping children reach their potential. I try to help my students understand concepts they are struggling with in primarily three ways. First, I find what their strengths are and see if I can extend understanding of these concepts to the one's they are struggling with. Secondly, I use many examples of a concept to break complex math down into simpler, concise ideas and problem-solving techniques.
