My comments on tutoring French : I'm working on my B.A in French. My French is also a my second language after Arabic.

I believe that language is the passport that can help you travel and understand the other culture; Therefore, teaching a second language is very important. I believe that being patient and creative is the essence of teaching, and in order to create well educated students, I should give them an extra time to be fluent in reading, writing and speaking the language.
French is my second language which I read and write since I was in third grade. I have earned an Associate in Art from community college, and I'm working on my BA in French. As a student in UMSL university,I'm practicing my French daily which is contributing in expanding my knowledge about French culture. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in differential teaching styles. Every student has the ability to learn, however every student's learning capabilities are all different. I believe that it's important to understand how every student learns as an individual and exposing them to a variety of learning situations. This can be done with lectures, readings, music, and various projects. Some students remember best what they see, some what they hear, but nearly all will best recall material that they see hear say and do something with. My teaching style is one that tries to incorporate seeing, hearing, saying, and doing and getting students to use higher order thinking skills as much as I can. More than just rote memory and recall, I want then to be able to apply acquired knowledge to solve problems or create new ideas based on their previous learning.

Learning should be fun. I strive to make a point of this when ever I teach. I do this in both lectures and tests. I find a little humor takes the edge off test taking and allows the student to concentrate on the subject matter without being nervous.

There, I tutored two fourth grade ESL students, an Italian boy and a Korean girl, primarily in math and reading. I have also tutored at the STRIVE tutoring center, helping a 7th grader and 8th grader with math and reading.
