Every child can learn, but they don't all learn the same way

I have been teaching for over 10 years. I am currently a second grade teacher. I tutor during the summers and have students of all ages, including middle school and high school. I believe all children can learn. It takes a special teacher to find out how a child learns and create lessons to engage that learning style. What works for one student doesn't always work for every student. I am a loving and positive teacher by nature. Make Learning Fun!!

I teach writing / grammar students based on their level of understanding vocabulary. Learning how to figure out the meaning of vocabulary words is key in successful writing. Word origin and grammar usuage is how a student builds their writing skills! Teaching is a passion, or even a way of life for me. I believe that students learn mathematics by actively participating in problems. It does little when an instructor simply demonstrates how to work through a problem. What I find to be very effective is to follow the two step method: work a problem and then have the student work in the same way. I have used this method with each of my students, and it has proven to be highly effective. Essentially, mathematics is a process of building connections between multiple concepts.
