Composition is one of my top subjects! I aced every paper I wrote in high school and college. I can help anyone in high school or college. I can help no matter how much or little help is needed from proofreading/editing a paper to explaining the assignment and sitting with the student from the first word written to submission.

Everyone is an expert at something. I happen to be an expert writer. I know the people I help learn to read and/or write are experts at something. My goal is to help people enough that they no longer need a tutor. I am patient, understanding, sometimes humorous, and always kind. I love helping people learn to write. I never write a word for any student. My job is not to write for them, but to teach them to write for themselves. I usually tutor in individual sessions, but can do group lessons if needed.

Every child can learn, but they don't all learn the same way

I have been teaching for over 10 years. I am currently a second grade teacher. I tutor during the summers and have students of all ages, including middle school and high school. I believe all children can learn. It takes a special teacher to find out how a child learns and create lessons to engage that learning style. What works for one student doesn't always work for every student. I am a loving and positive teacher by nature. I teach writing / grammar students based on their level of understanding vocabulary. Learning how to figure out the meaning of vocabulary words is key in successful writing. Word origin and grammar usuage is how a student builds their writing skills!
