I have enjoyed teaching in private schools of and on for the last 22 years. My bachelor degree in math and my years of experience in the classroom have allowed me to develop successful methods of student motivation and classroom discipline. Also, in recent years, I have tutored students one-on-one in my home where I have been successful pinpointing student's problem areas and addressing their individual needs. I am currently an adjunct instructor at Highland Community College in Wamego. I teach Beginning Algebra and Intermediate Algebra. I like starting with the given information and stepping through the processes to solve a problem. Reminding them of, or even showing them, the rules, properties, and examples in the book. I normally try to find the method that best works with each pupil, then highlight on that. I also make sure not to do the work for the student. I will sometimes come up with a similar problem to work through so they can see what's really going on within the problem. I have tutored Algebra through Calculus I and Elementary Statistics for the last three years. 1.5 years at both Wichita State University and Washburn University. I'm currently working on a second Bachelors degree in mathematics, but this time with an emphasis in Actuarial Science. This mixes calculus, algebra, and statistics, along with some business classes, into one, keeping them fresh in my mind.

From May 2007 to August 2010, I attended Emporia State University where I worked on a dual-bachelor’s degree program in physics and engineering. In August 2010, I transferred to Kansas State University to complete the program.
