A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching approach is targeted to the student i am teaching to; i believe that learning a foreign languages is not a burden but should be a fun experience. I use music, movies, food, conversation, and readings as a teaching approach to maximize learning.
I am Italian born and raised and moved to the USA 5 years ago to work on my M.A. I have taught English in my home country and I enjoy teaching Italian language and Italian Cusine. I love cooking and i have held small cooking classes for friends and neighbors. Italian is my first language but i am fluent in English as well. For those who are interested, I offer cooking classes to learn how to prepare authentic Italian dishes only with fresh ingredients, explained step by step. As a bilingual Spanish and English speaker since birth I have always had an interest and inclination to the learning and teaching of languages. As a student at Fordham University, I pursued the Italian language. Afterward I spent a year in Spain teaching English to Spanish students which I found very rewarding and interesting. This past year I substituted for the foreign language teachers at New Canaan High School in Connecticut. I have found that I am a very effective teacher who will do whatever it takes to make sure the student is able to understand the material and figure out how the language he or she is trying to master functions.

If this is not possile, I take an approach to the topic in order to make it more interesting, especially when there are such good internet resources today.
