Most of my experience is working as a Wildlife Biologist for the US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and the Bureau of Reclamation (1973-2006). I worked as a teaching Assistant for Dr. Bender at ASU (1972). I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Science from Northwest Nazarene College (University)and a Master of Science in Zoology from Arizona State University.
I believe in a more visual aspect in learning and teaching. "Hands on" as much as possible. For example, it's easier to learn looking at a mesquite tree than reading about it or looking at a picture of the tree. I try to make learning fun and thrill to the discovery of knowledge. A lot of biology however, is more of a "rote memorization" type of learning. This tends to bore some so I try to make it more real and exciting.

Having graduated from the University of Arizona with a BS in Microbiology and minors in chemistry and Spanish has enabled me to expand my knowledge in areas such as science in particular biology and math. Being bilingual permits me to help those students who currently have difficulties mastering the English language. During my undergraduate career at the UofA, I was a tutor for genetics. I received upper-division credit for it. My tutoring experience lasted the whole Spring semester.
