I believe that if a student doesn't understand what is being taught, part of the fault lies in the way the information is being presented. Most standard classroom settings do not provide the type of learning environment many students need, and I believe this is the root cause of their struggle with the subject matter, not the subject matter itself and certainly not the student. I am very good at explaining concepts in many different ways and work patiently and at the student's own pace. With my background in math I feel very comfortable working with kids of all skill levels and helping them reach there full potential. I love teaching to students who wish to learn. When the student's drive is there, we find ways to overcome difficult concepts. I engage all of the most common learning styles, encouraging students to understand the material so well that they can explain the concepts and apply them in word problems.
