Experience Summary
I have enjoyed teaching for many years. My honors-level undergraduate courses led me to a lot of reading and writing --and to serve as a teaching assistant in ethics for five semesters. Since I also love math and accounting, I was also hired to teach entry-level accounting courses. At work, I served as a beta tester for Excel and began teaching others to use it, as well. I now have thirteen years of experience in teaching accounting, besides two years of coaching college-level composition. Volunteer experience with elementary students inspired them to succeed in all the language arts, as well as basic math skills. Helping others develop new skills and abilities has been great fun!
Teaching Style
I love teaching to students who wish to learn. When the student's drive is there, we find ways to overcome difficult concepts. I engage all of the most common learning styles, encouraging students to understand the material so well that they can explain the concepts and apply them in word problems.
