I am a student-oriented teacher and am willing to do all I can to make learning approaches applicable to each child’s needs. My goal in tutoring is to help the child connect with the subject at hand and develop a greater interest in learning, irrespective of the method used. My educational background in social work lends to a caring, compassionate, yet motivational approach.
I taught elementary Art, P.E., and library class. In addition, I taught a 12th grade Transitions course, for a year in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. I strive to make a difference in all my student's lives, remembering these tenents of acceptance and consistency.
I was awarded a BA, Social Sciences, in December, 2000. Upon relocation to kansas city, Missouri, in 2001, I began training in a teacher education program, 2003, Kansas City Missouri school district, earning teacher certification, Adult Basic Education,2003.
