My first teaching experience was in high school teaching at after school programs about basic economic principles that may apply to kids. That was my first time understanding that I have potential to assist others in grasping topics. As "stay at home" mom of 6, I have used my two Bachelors' degrees for the education of my own children. I've taught them essential reading and writing skills, study habits, organization skills, science projects, practical application of principles, and a love of learning. I have also home schooled my children. I teach violin and piano out of the home and have spent many hours volunteering in the public schools with ESL and teaching early morning Spanish courses. I love teaching all different ages. I have a passion for working with children and adults. My approach to teaching is a positive one providing lots of encouragement and positve reinforcement. I have a great personality and like to try new ways for students to improve.Each child is different and I believe we should teach every child differently.
I recieved a percussion perfromance degree form Eastern Washington University in 1992, since then I have been teaching private music lessons (percussion and begining piano)as well as teaching some high school music programs. I also have many years experience in performing all percussion instruments.
