Elementary Education and ESL

A student cannot learn unless he is comfortable and confident. My first priority before teaching is to make sure the student is relaxed and believes he can accomplish the goal. I also like to get to know my student to know what kind of learner he is and what he likes. My teaching style is "delight directed" whenever possible.
In 2001, I received my certification in Elementary Education from CCSU. I then substitute taught for the town of West Hartford for 2 years while I got married and had my son. He had a lot of health problems so the decision was made for me to stay home with him. When it came to Kindergarten he still had many health issues so we thought it was best to keep him home and I began to Homeschool him.
