Sign Language is one of my top subjects! I am currently working as an American Sign Language Interpreter in Tennessee and the surrounding areas. I have an Educational Interpreting Performance Assessment (EIPA) of 3.4 and hold a B.S. in American Sign Language Interpreting from Tennessee Temple University. I have tutoring experience with the language. I also specialize in ASL Interpreting in Educational settings.

After studying American Sign Language for 4 years I received my B.S. degree in American Sign Language Interpreting from Tennessee Temple University. I went on to receive a 3.4 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment and received my National Interpreter Certification- Written. I have Interpreted in a wide array of settings from Mental Health to Education; Education being my specialty. I have worked with the Deaf-Blind community as a Support Service Provider(SSP)as well as an Interpreter. Since 2010 I have been involved with various jobs teaching, interpreting and using American Sign Language. I began an Interpreter Training Program at Nashville State Community College. After the first year of the program, I decided to move to a location where many Deaf people were and immersed myself in the language. I got a job as a job coach specifically working with Deaf and hard of hearing individuals. I also began volunteering as an interpreter at a local church. I love kids, and I love helping them learn and succeed. I have always believed that children learn best when learning is fun and interesting. I try to incorporate new and interesting methods of teaching into my lessons, including manipulatives and "hands-on" learning, and using "real world" examples that kids can relate to.
