During the completion of my BMA, I accepted a tutoring position and tutored all students (including disabled students) for two years. I eventually moved on to substituting for professors and even gained an assistant to the professor position, which included developing and teaching lesson plans. I have a strong interest in the sciences of the world. I earned a bachelor degree in ecology including a minor in botany. I also earned a Master degree in biology studying mountain quail. During my undergraduate and graduate education I participated in the GK-12 program as a scientist in residence. I spent 20 hours a week in the middle school and high school setting for two years. After completing my education at Brigham Young University-Idaho in the spring of 2003, I was hired to work as an aid at the school where I had done my student teaching. During this year, I worked with students in reading and math lab classes which were designed to help students who were struggling to achieve proficient scores on their ISAT's. I then was hired as a teacher and taught for the next two years in the subjects of reading lab, literature, and language arts.
