I have worked at the Salem State University writing center for the last two years. At the writing center, I work with students on papers in all subjects, from math to English. My experience at the center has helped me develop methods for helping students plan and organize papers, and also for addressing grammar and style issues. I also have a lot of experience working with ESL students. I consider myself a very laid back person and am flexible in terms of addressing the student's concerns. I primarily work in subjects related to writing. My training is in philosophy, so I tend to focus on helping students develop strong reasoning/arguing skills and a precise voice. I find that these skills, which are heavily emphasized in philosophical writing, carry over well into all forms of academic writing.

For over three years I worked as a writing tutor for Southern Utah University's Writing Center where I helped students improve both their academic and creative writing. Once I get to know the student, learning can progress. I am good at summarizing the information they need. This summery is short, specific, and most important, clear.
