Experience Summary
Coming from a family of teachers, the importance of education has always been stressed to me. The emphasis was placed not only on succeeding academically, but also to gain a true understanding of the subject matter. I hold an Associates of Applied Science in Community Service and Leadership and graduated Magna Cum Laude. I also hold a Bachelors of Science in Family Studies with a concentration on early childhood education and graduated Summa Cum Laude. I have an extensive knowledge of reading, writing and grammar and have always scored well into the 90th percentiles on standardized tests in these areas. I completed studies in French I, Spanish II, Modern Greek, and am fluent in American Sign Language.
Teaching Style
Working with children has always been my passion. I feel as though it is important to engage all different types of learners and to make them feel as if the classroom is a place where everyone is safe and included. I have worked extensively in the past with children that have Autism. I believe that all children, despite any disability, are capable of being successful students as long as they are given the right tools and the support that is necessary.
