A Little Bit About Me...

I have a versatile background that began with two business degrees and progressed to a professional career in purchasing and sales. I discovered along the way that my true passion was teaching and I can be more effective in a tutoring one-on-one situation than a classroom setting. I am highly proficient and have tutored nearly all subjects and grade levels.
Teach a man to fish...is for life. Tutoring is the same, especially with younger children. I haven't met a student yet who is unable to learn. My job is to find the method that will best enable students to self-actualize their learning. A success is converting the child's approach and passion for learning. If I helped to change the child's mind about learning, I have literally altered the course of his/her life in a positive way.

I am currently enrolled at the State College of Florida to complete my AA in Liberal Arts. I have 62 credit hours and plan to graduate next semester. Education is important but so are real life skills and what happens outside of school. I am a licensed real estate sales person in Florida. I was also a human resource coordinator. During the course of my career I have had the opportunity to help others. Real life is what matters. Someone could be a 4.0 in college, but do they have what it takes to make it outside the classroom.

Excellent with children, I can adjust my teaching style with the personality of the child. No child learns the same, so it is important to create a learning plan that builds trust and respect between the child and tutor. I have found my greatest attribute is the ability to make learning fun and “cool.” I am passionate about teaching. If the children you teach can sense your passion for the subject, they will absorb that energy and want to excel. I also consider myself very patient - frustration has a very negative effect when trying to create a positive learning environment.
