My teach style is different for each pupil. Everyone learns differently and once I get a feel for how they learn easiest, I conform my teaching style accordingly, using personal interests and incentives if progress is made.
I have throughout my entire grade school career been both a tutor and a mentor. As young as in nine years old in fourth grade I was selected to tutor kindergarten children in mathematics. I am currently completing my final year at Vanderbilt Law School. Over the past three years, I have taught a class and provided one-on-one tutoring for students preparing to take the LSAT. I also taught an upper level course while in grad school (it was in radio production). While I was in undergrad, I spent time tutoring elementary and middle school aged children over the internet. A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked for an after school program for the past five years. In this position I was able to tutor students and help them with their homework. The experience I have is with students in grades kindergarten through 4th grade. I did my student teaching in a preschool and a 2nd grade classroom. In the after school program and the student teaching experience I helped students with all school subjects including english, math, science, social studies and reading.

I like to use every day metaphors for teaching math problems and also try to teach students how to use a "process of elimination" style.
