Calculus and Probability

I have zero formal teaching experience. However, I do have a great love for the beauty of math and a great interest in helping others reach their mathematic potential. I have spent a great deal of time with Calculus and Probability with a focus on detail and problem solving during the course of my actuarial studies, and my algebra skills are incidentally very good.
Easygoing. Math is fun! I believe everyone has the ability to understand and apply math, or in other words, to be good at it. My general approach is to focus on the logical foundations of a given subject and then to exercise that knowledge on practical applications. Nearly everything you need to know is right there in your text! It just takes a careful and thorough reading of the material, much like any other subject.

I tend to use a demonstrator style of teaching by first working through a problem slowly while asking the student questions to ensure that they understand what I am doing. I pride myself on helping students have fun while learning. I believe that if a student is not enjoying themselves they will not learn. As a teacher I use a hands-on approach to give the students a realistic approach to learning. All students can learn and as a teacher I feel it is my job to bring the best out of any child. I love children and I long to make a difference in each ones lives.
I have worked for an after school program for the past five years. In this position I was able to tutor students and help them with their homework.
