Japan has always been close to my heart. I am a high beginner and can tutor with the basic hiragana, katakana and very basic kanji, as well as a bit of grammar and some vocabulary. I believe that conversation is an essential part of language learning. After teaching some basic vocabulary and grammar, I like to encourage students to place their fear of making mistakes to the side and converse as much as they are able to in the target language. While not fluent in Japanese, I have taken 3 years of high school level courses and am familiar with the expectations thereof. I have passed the kanji kentei through 8th kyuu and passed 9th with a perfect score.
