A Little Bit About Me...

Since I am an engineering student, I have always been interested and excelled in math and science, so I have tutored many kids in all areas of science and mathematics. I have also tutored in Spanish and French. Last year, I worked with a young man who had dyslexia. I have helped kids of all ages, whether at the elementary, high school, or collegiate level.
I am a very patient person, a trait which I believe is very beneficial for a tutor to possess. I am always patient when teaching, and in doing so have succeeded in getting my point across. After earning a PhD in physical chemistry, I held a 2-year postdoctoral position at the Bell Telephone Laboratories where I worked on the biophysics of DNA. I then continued my work on DNA at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the Biology Division for nearly 20 years following which I spent 2 years in Washington as a Congressional Fellow and as a visiting scientist at the National Cancer Institute.
