Learning can be fun!

My style is a learner centered one. I believe in guided learning, where the students make discoveries themselves while at the same time feeling supported and directed. I believe that everyone can learn, and discovering each student's style of learning while promoting confidence is very important to me.
I am currently teaching English as a second language to post-secondary international students at California State University Sacramento. I have also tutored at the UNR Writing Center (when it still existed) during the Fall semester of '08. Since October 2008 I have tutored at the Reno Huntington Learning Center where I teach phonics all the way up to SAT and ACT Verbal test prep. A Little Bit About Me...

Having a degree in physics gives me excellent problem solving skills. Combined with my interest in philosophy I have the confidence to tackle any problem, boil it down to the basic question and from there show each step to the student. There are many different ways to explain math and science concepts, and problems.
