In the early sessions I ask my students a lot of questions to figure out their goals, problems, current knowledge and learning style. Based on what I find I build a teaching strategy. I then help them find appropriate materials if they don't already own some. I try a few methods to find the one that works best. If I'm teaching a language I like to combine grammar, vocabulary building exercises, as well as speaking and listening. I give them small quizzes to measure their progress. As a teacher, I use myself as a tool to help facilitate the learning process. I have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Multidisciplinary studies focusing on English as well as Communication. I am in the process of gaining my certification in Special Education and English while going to school to gain my Masters Degree in Special Education with a focus in Learning Disabilities. I have completed nine hours of Masters classes and have maintained an A average.
