Experience Summary
As an Engineer with 7 years of experience I have achieved excellent technical skills, which I have used when teaching Math and Science. I have tutored for 3 SES providers, including at-risk schools, where I gained experience on didactics and a cariety of pedagagogical skills. Also, since I have been substitute-teaching since 10/2010, I have gained knowledge and skill in pedadogy for a variety of subjects such as Math, Chemistry, Physics, English, Social studies, Communications and Web design. Finally, because of my experience as a Sales Representative, I have excellent communication skills in Englsih and Spanish.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is aligned to the Congnitive theory of Learning, in which I attempt to apply all of the following:
1. A review and connection to previously learned material and to material across disciplines
2. Presentation of material using language and ideas corresponding the appropriate age group
3. A build-up approach where the material is introduced in a sequential manner "building on previous material".
4. Use of a veriety visual, auditive and kinesthetic media to present material all learner types, plus a varied approach to reach students withe different learning abilities
5. Use of technology (computers, the internet and games) to reach students
