Experience Summary
I have a social work background which, in my work has always been integrated with some component of teaching, both in and out of the classroom. I can teach most K-12 subjects, college prep courses and provide tutoring services including assessment and curriculum development. I tend to be rather versatile in my teaching methods as I adapt to the learning style of the student. It's what I have found most effective in improving the quality of their educational experience. I play tournament chess and enjoy coaching chess club as well.
Teaching Style
I ascribe to Gardner's 8 Stages of Intelligence theory, which purports the belief that every student is gifted, intelligent and capable of learning in a manner that conducive to their own unique style. As a teacher, I use myself as a tool to help facilitate the learning process.
