Whenever I can, I like to be very hands-on in my teaching my students. For example, once I was teaching my class about trees. I had them go outside and collect samples of bark which had fallen on the ground. Then we created a gigantic mural in my classroom and glued the pieces of bark to a tree we had drawn.
I have been a self-employed Tutor since April, 2006. Special needs and home schooled students are welcomed. Nothing makes me happier than when I see the smiles on the faces of my students when they succeed rather than fail. I assist all students in skill building and creating a life-long love of learning. My comments on tutoring Spelling : English has been the subject I have taught for the last three years. As an ESL teacher, I not only have to theach all aspects of English, but I have to adapt my teaching methods to the lower understanding of my students. In an ESL experience as well as any other, I, not only must teach the spelling of words, but teach an understanding of why they are spelled as they are. I do this to instill a deeper understanding about the words the student is learning.

I extensively use music, video, flashcards and activities to make my clases fun and interesting. Discussion, and even newspaper articles can be supplemented as class materials. Classes are tailored to fit the needs and level of the student. I always keep my classes upbeat and moving forward. The proper amoount of review is mixed into the new material so everything remains fresh, not forgotten.

Learning spanish in an untraditional fun way!

Creating a solid foundation for education

As a teacher and a tutor, I have always felt that each student learns differently and that they each need to be taught based upon the most efficient method that works for each individual student.
