Whenever I can, I like to be very hands-on in my teaching my students. For example, once I was teaching my class about trees. I had them go outside and collect samples of bark which had fallen on the ground. Then we created a gigantic mural in my classroom and glued the pieces of bark to a tree we had drawn.
I have been a self-employed Tutor since April, 2006. Special needs and home schooled students are welcomed. Nothing makes me happier than when I see the smiles on the faces of my students when they succeed rather than fail. I assist all students in skill building and creating a life-long love of learning. Great lessons made fun!

I use common phrases to start and then continue with common verbs and increase the vocabulary with common everyday words. I use my fun, outgoing personality to make sure that the lessons are not only fun but also stick in he mind for maximum retention of each lesson.
I lived in Brazil and taught English to Brazilians. I also taught Portuguese to Americans who were living in Brazil. Creating a solid foundation for education

My comments on tutoring Spelling : English has been the subject I have taught for the last three years. As an ESL teacher, I not only have to theach all aspects of English, but I have to adapt my teaching methods to the lower understanding of my students. In an ESL experience as well as any other, I, not only must teach the spelling of words, but teach an understanding of why they are spelled as they are. I do this to instill a deeper understanding about the words the student is learning.

I keep learning fun and interesting!
