My comments on tutoring Spelling : English has been the subject I have taught for the last three years. As an ESL teacher, I not only have to theach all aspects of English, but I have to adapt my teaching methods to the lower understanding of my students. In an ESL experience as well as any other, I, not only must teach the spelling of words, but teach an understanding of why they are spelled as they are. I do this to instill a deeper understanding about the words the student is learning.

From 2002 through 2010 I served as an Adult leader for the BSA through which I taught subjects ranging from life skills (cooking, sewing, personal care, etc) to government (political structure, citizenship, etc.) to outdoor survival(fire making, edible plant recognition, swimming, etc.) Also, from 2004 through 2012, I served as a safety trainer and risk management trainer for two different employers. New college graduate with teaching experience

I have experience in one-on-one teaching, but feel comfortable with no more than five students at a time.

Creating a solid foundation for education

As a teacher and a tutor, I have always felt that each student learns differently and that they each need to be taught based upon the most efficient method that works for each individual student. Most of my day while teaching involved working with small groups of students based upon their areas of weakness. I used a lot of hands on instruction and activities which allowed students to gain a solid foundation before moving on to more complex skills. Exceeded my GED tests and finished classes early

Enrolled in GED classes in late January 2011 and completed the courses within a week and took my GED 2 weeks later and passed in all fields with high scores or exceeding scores. Im 17 but willing to work hard and do everything I can to make sure the student passes and even exceeds on their GED.
