I do not use common classroom practices in teaching. Activity and creativity are at the heart of learning. When learning is fun, children will retain concepts and not constantly ask, "Why am I learning this?" I try to create a practical way to use concepts learned in school. Here are a few examples. For a twelve year old boy studying geometry, we might play basket ball to calculate the best angles for a free-throw.
