My teaching is style is very interesting. I believe that knowing other artists work is important in the development of your style. I like to give the artist a chance to do what they're comfortable with and then make them stop completely and try something new. For example I used to only draw portraits in value and I would never paint, simply because I believed I sucked at painting. Well, I stopped my value portraiture and would just start to paint faces with no guidance at all. One day a painting could almost look like the person and I would have to tell you who it was for you to know, and some days you wouldn't be able to tell it was a person. Then, one day something just clicked on my brain and I painted an actual person that actually looked like them. Being a young artist I think I have a better grasp on the development of artistry, and would make a great fit as a tutor. I currently ow

Abel A. - Garland, TX 75043 (13.9 mi) - Sculpting Tutor - $22.50/hr.
Visual style is my favorite because most people have a tendency to view various things and store it in their memory. I have been teaching/helping out my cousins and friends with their studies. I do not hold a very prestigious professional experience, However, I started full time college at the age of 17 and am planning on getting my bachelors as well as my masters in Accounting/Business. If the circumstances are right, I might also give medical school a try.

I have some experience with sculpting and my work has been exhibited in juried shows. I use mixed media, polymer clay, wire and other materials. I'm comfortable with all ages and levels of students. My teaching style is relaxed, open, encouraging and I allow students to experiment. I have a strong background in techniques, so I also want to build a foundation and skill level without taking away the creativity and spontaneity. I also have knowledge of art history and I'm open to many different ways of appreciating art. I have a background in marketing and writing for advertising and also journalism. I have studied classical art from the age of six to present. My work is varied, and although I have roots in classical techniques, I also relate to and create abstract styles. My work is represented in galleries, selected in juried shows and I have twice been accepted to exhibit and sell my wo

Chereen S - Richardson, TX 75081 (19.2 mi) - Sculpting Tutor - $36.50/hr.
I work with students very well. I make sure that they are able to connect with me, and enjoy the process of learning. It's important to like what you are studying, so that you can get the most out of it. I feel as though it is necessary for them to enjoy the setting they are in, and I do my best to accommodate them. Learning should not be something that students do not look forward to, contrary; they should be excited to learn something new. I make sure that this is one of my goals, so that they can get the ultimate satisfaction and have that desire to solve the problems and answer the questions on their own. I don't just consider it tutoring, I consider it mentoring. Due to my desire to increase my knowledge, I graduated a year early from my university with a BA in Psychology, and a minor in Political Science. I am currently in Graduate School, majoring in Community Counseling. This is

Cheri E - Denton, TX 76205 (41.2 mi) - Sculpting Tutor - $48.00/hr.
I enjoy working with all students and have tutored students for the past 4 years in the AVID program. Additionally, I tutored and served as a writing to coach to high-school and college students during my off time. My focus is helping students understand how to aptly address course assignments, how to structure and assemble essays, term papers and research papers and how to decipher themes and motifs in classic readings for assigned papers. My method is to guide students to becoming skilled writers through the editing process and use of an explanatory narrative. I believe the best learning is taught in a manner that encourages and supports students to find their own way as life-long learners. For almost twenty years, I’ve worked with students as a K-12 as a tutor, coordinator, counselor, and advocate in a variety of educational environments. I am committed to the belief that achieving a
