Experience Summary
I currently own a clothing company that is artist based. All of the designs are hand drawn or designed graphically on the computer. I have different techniques for different medias, and I believe anyone can create something inspiring if they had a pencil and paper. I attended Garland High School where I was in the IB Art Program and will be attending OKlahoma State in the Fall to pursue an art minor. At GHS I've had the pleasure of designing our senior shirts and design the shirts for the Visual Arts Scolatics Event (VASE) competition.
Teaching Style
My teaching is style is very interesting. I believe that knowing other artists work is important in the development of your style. I like to give the artist a chance to do what they're comfortable with and then make them stop completely and try something new. For example I used to only draw portraits in value and I would never paint, simply because I believed I sucked at painting. Well, I stopped my value portraiture and would just start to paint faces with no guidance at all. One day a painting could almost look like the person and I would have to tell you who it was for you to know, and some days you wouldn't be able to tell it was a person. Then, one day something just clicked on my brain and I painted an actual person that actually looked like them. Being a young artist I think I have a better grasp on the development of artistry, and would make a great fit as a tutor.
