I teach in many ways through a book or how I was taught by my teachers. I am open-minded and try to figure out what is the best way to teach a person I am trying to help. I am currently finishing my first year in college. I have a High School diploma and an award as an AP Scholar. I enjoy math and I am passing my DS-71 math course with an A at Fresno State. I have recently declared my second major in teaching mathematics. In college, I am ahead by a semester since I transferred over 36 units for my degree.

I like to work with students individually, but sometimes a group is fine. I have the student read the assigned reading, Ask student to sound out words they are having trouble with. If they cannot read selection and it is short I will have them read it again. Longer selections are broken into parts. Drama is more flexible, tapping into emotions, and developing character styles Worked as a Teacher's assistant with Learning disabled student's in a classroom setting. Tutored students in reading who were learning disabled. My goal was to teach my student's to read well enough to fill in job applications. I have taught and tutored in the education field for over 20 years. I have taught 5th and 6th grade been a substitute teacher in Kindergarten through 12th grade. I have over 10 years of experience teaching developmental and freshmen composition courses at the college level and have also directed the composition program at Fresno Pacific University. My teaching 'style' is a bit unique, in my opinion. By that, I mean that every child/student 'learns' differently, so I must 'adapt' my style 'on the fly' after determining what is the most effective approach/style/method for that individual student.
