I'm currently enrolled in Kaplan University pursuing my certification to become a Registered Dental Assistant with Extended Functions. I have completed High School and obtained my Diploma in 2014. Volunteer and worker at camp Kids Inc for two and a half years. Read to elementary students 3 times a week and help them with reading comprehension. Volunteered to be a mentor to a junior high girl. I helped her with advice but also just was a support for her when she needed it. Worked at a sports team camp teaching little kids from the ages of kindergarten through sixth grade how to play volleyball.
Students must understand that they have come to me to learn more. But I also want to enjoy the time I have with them so they feel like learning is fun.

Balance is the Key to Life

My teaching 'style' is a bit unique, in my opinion. By that, I mean that every child/student 'learns' differently, so I must 'adapt' my style 'on the fly' after determining what is the most effective approach/style/method for that individual student. In addition, the subject that I am teaching also affects my style and some 'tools' that I learned as a youngster and a teacher are also implemented frequently.
I was trained to be a teacher at CSU-Fresno, where I graduated in May, 1999. I substituted for 3 consecutive years in Fresno, Clovis, and Madera Unified School districts at grade levels 3-12. I received my Master's Degree in Sports Administration from the American Public University system in May, 2011, and graduated with Honors and a 4.0 GPA. I am currently trying to obtain my credential and hope to be an Athletic Director one day.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have prior tutoring experience with ELD (English Language Development) students at Vinland Elementary. I majored in vocal music, & previously held a medical coding cert (CCA) through the American Health Information Management Association. My mother is a retired elementary teacher, and owing to being on 2 different tracks for some years, I practically grew up in her classroom. For a while, no summer vacation was safe!
