While studying at MC, I took the opportunity to live and study abroad in Costa Rica, where I learned most of my conversational Spanish. After graduating from Mississippi College with a bachelor's in Spanish and a certificate in TESOL, I lived abroad in Peru working for an orphanage. Upon returning to the States, I worked as an ESL and Spanish teacher at both middle school and high school level. When teaching a language, I believe one should not only have the knowledge of the grammar and syntax, but the skills of communication. Thus, I implement a lot of conversational English and Spanish in my lessons within the classroom and tutoring. After graduating from University of Memphis, I moved to California and taught in a Montessori preschool until beginning my own family.
