Experience Summary
I have worked as a Sunday school teacher instructing children ages ten through sixteen. I also taught vacation Bible school during the summers. During my senior year of high school, I mentored a young lady named Olivia Draper with whom I received a $2500.00 scholarship from Champions for Children for college.I also worked as a substitute teacher for Madison County Schools in 2009-2010. I worked most of my substituting assignments at the alternative school. I fell in love with the desire to teach students while working with the students there. I noticed there is a need for passionate educators. I plan to begin the movement.
Teaching Style
I am very patient, and I take pride in my ability to relate to so many different students at different grade levels. I am not strict, but I expect hard work and dedication from my pupils.
My Hobbies
I am very athletic and energetic. I am a former basketball player (7th-9th grade), clarinet player in marching and concert bands (6th-12th grades), and powerlifter (12th grade-college sophomore). My other hobbies include running, reading mystery novels, and sewing.
Other Comments
I believe in the statement by Joseph Jubert, "To teach is to learn twice". I also feel that there is learning coming from both sides. I enjoy the feeling of giving back what I have received to help open doors for our future leaders!
